Jermuk – Tatev

Routine 4

Again we want to remind again that we will pass the whole routine from Lori region to Syunik. But as some people can’t do the whole programm as they have work or other things to do we splited it into 4 parts. After every part we’ll have a day off when we will recover and gain energy as well as spend an interesting time. Anyone who wants can choose the most interesting one from that 4 parts and join if they can’t join the whole programm.

From Jermuk to Tatev

The last part of our routine will be from touristic town of Jermuk till the gorgeus monastery of Tatev. As you can guess the road passes by Zangezur mountains reaching the heart of Syunik region. When we start the hiking after a few hours we’ll reach Gndevank monastery where there are still monks living there. Then we’ll pass the slopes of Amulsar mountain and observe the highland of Syunik from above. We’ll hike in the gorge of Vorotan seeing several reservoirs including the biggest reservoir of Armenia-Spandaryan. There are some other unique places in this routine like Qarahunj-the mysterious Zorats karer, Vorotnavanak monastery which is not so famous but very unique. And the best part of the routine will be the waterfall of Shaki-18m high. And the destination and the last point is already famous Tatev monastery. We’ll pass 2 regions-Vayots dzor and Syunik.We’ll have 6 overnights 4 out of which in tents and 2 in village guesthouses. We’ll walk 7 days approximately 130km
