Hatis is a mountain in the central part of the Kotayk region in the north-eastern part of Abovyan town. The height is 2528m, the relative height is 1100m from the southern side but from north-eastern side looking to Geghama mountain range is 500m.
From all sides Hatis has a look of mountainous meadow though it is rocky and looks սլացիկ. There are no trees on the mountain but some wild rosehip bushes.
Fauna is not so rich because it is surrounded by villages and from those villages the shepherds bring their cows and sheeps to the slopes of the mountain for pasture.
And though Hatis is low from other mountains in Armenia it has a serious treasure inside-water known as the softest and tastiest water of Armenia. It is used in many juice factories of Armenia. Next to Hatis there is another mountain-Gutanasar from where the views to Hatis are indescribable.
